Modern Trends in Geomechanics
Abstract
The workshop will focus on the fundamental aspects of theoretical and experimental geomechanics. It will bring together different schools of thought in geomechanics research. The purpose of the workshop is to take stock of the state-of-the-art, to reflect on the recent developments, and to highlight possible future research trends in the field of geomechanics. The workshop places the highest value on quality instead of quantity. Topics to be presented are: - analytical solutions - numerical methods - constitutive models - high-order continua - instability and bifurcation - coupled problems - cyclic loading - rate dependence - limit analysis - shakedown analysis - micro-macro relationships - rapid granular flow - transport phenomena - novel laboratory and field tests
