Development of analysis methods for rapid and mobile monitoring of microbiological quality of drinking water
Abstract
The project AquaMicro is intended to develop a microbiological quality control of drinking water within 12 hours and reduce the usual analysis time significantly. The criteria and parameter of the Austrian drinking water directive will be followed. The goal should be reached by combining innovative culturing and molecular biological methods. A comprehensive validation of each procedure and of the combined methods should allow to safely detect unwanted or indicating micro-organisms and generate a rigid result for the total microbial load of a drinking water sample.
