Abstract: The state of knowledge for the estimation of carbon pools and biomass resources in different (historical) silvicultural systems in the eastern part of Austria will be improved by this study. Based on an ecological and economical evaluation of the silvicultural systems, it will support silvicultural decision making for a sustainable, multifunctional and ecological justifiable forest management of stands.
