Abstract
The goal of this project is the recovery of valuable metals from shredder light fractions. For the separation of the metals a biotechnology based process, namely bleaching is used. This strategy is applied for the first time for metal containing waste. Within the project primarily mechanistic studies on the effect of complex contaminants present in shredder light fraction on bleaching will be conducted in order to develop a robust process.
