Smoothed particle hydrodynamic model II - EDF
Abstract
Purpose of the project is to improve the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) modelling technique by performing research and implementation in the open-source software GPUSPH, to make validation cases and to apply it to a real-life application case. The programme will consist of the following stages (all stages will be done in 3D, applicable to the multi-GPU branch of GPUSPH and compatible with all existing GPUSPH features, such as the motion of rigid bodies, new boundary conditions and k-epsilon turbulence model): - Coupling of the semi-analytical boundary condition part of GPUSPH with the Open Dynamics Engine (ODE); - Cleaning of the current version of GPUSPH including optimization of the runtime; - Documentation of the current GPUSPH features; - Development and implementation of a particle refinement method that is compatible with the semi-analytical boundary conditions.
