Construction-related measurements for increasing the fuel-efficiency in ploughing
Abstract
The fuel consumption in plant cropping is relevant cost factor. Especially soil tillage with plough is an energy intensive field process. Fuel consumption mitigation requires innovative approaches in construction and process engineering. The constructional design of ploughshare, mouldboard and additional tools (skimmer, manure burying coulter, disk coulter) have an essential influence on draft and fuel demand. The aim of this project is to collect available construction related measurements for increasing fuel efficiency in ploughing. One innovative approach is the decreasing of the coefficient of friction through integration of curved, rolling disc in the plough-body.
