Abstract
The study deals with the investigation of the ecological status concerning the benthic invertebrate biodiversity of the Danube backwater "Alte Donau" in Vienna. Five sites will be investigated with a major focus on detecting biodiversity linked to habitat diversity. The site selection is carried out in consultation with representatives of MA 45. The samples are subjected to a full taxonomic analysis, for the evaluation the software ECOPROF is used. Processing of macroinvertebrates is done by specialists of AG Benthic Ecology (BOKU).
