Ecological flushing management at the Rottau reservoir
Abstract
The research project deals with the effects of reservoir flushing on the fish stocks at the Lower Möll. The study builds on the investigations carried out in recent years in the residual water section downstream of the weir Rottau, which documented significant changes in the fish stocks. A sometimes strong loss of the stock-forming fish of the residual water route, as well as an immigration from the reservoir could be documented. Thus, the actual consequences of flushing events remain unclear. Within the framework of the proposed research project, concrete figures on potential damage to the fish population will be collected by means of a comprehensive field study.
