Green Care Wald Destination Geras - Scientific basics for the development of health trails
Abstract
Green environments can affect human health. While many studies have revealed positive effects of green environment on human health compared to built environments, little is known about the health effects of different types of green on humans. Such information is necessary for the development of health specific offers such a health trails. The community of Geras, located in the district of Horn, is characterised by the nature park, fields, forests and ponds. A local actor group is working on a further regional implementation of the topic forests and health. One example could be the development of health trails within the nature park. To test the impact of trails in different park environments on human health, probands will walk the trails while measuring health impacts (physiological, mental). The aim is to identify those trails, which provide the best health benefits.
