Biochar treatment plant for domestic wastewater
Abstract
The technical functionality of a novel concept of a biochar sewage treatment plant is to be examined. The new system replaces all the purification stages of a conventional sewage treatment plant for domestic wastewater. The used biochar is a renewable product that is obtained from renewable resources. The biochar enriched with organic substances and nutrients is stabilized at the end of the cleaning process, and can be used both as a fertilizer and as a soil-improving substance in agriculture. The technical concept for the biochar sewage treatment plant is available, but there are still a number of detailed aspects that must be examined before a first pilot plant can be planned.
