Analysis of case based wolf livestock damage records for Europe
Abstract
With the return of bear, wolf and lynx to Europe, conflicts between humans and wildlife are arising, for which practical solutions must be found. To enable coexistence between humans and wildlife multiple approaches have been developed. Careful investigation and documentation of damages is necessary to not only determine the cause, location, and timing of damages, but also to what extent implemented protective measures are effective. Based on current data from 2018 until 2020, we will investigate the extent to which damages to farm animals are related to population densities of wolves.
