Abstract
The questions addressed within the scope of the present project are topics related to experimental and applied meteorology, urban meteorology, energy balance, soil vegetation interaction, soil-atmosphere interactions and climate modelling in the micro, meso and macro scale.
Soil bioengineering, landscape construction and urban planning: Questions addressed are related to green infrastructure, type of land use/vegetation and related irrigation in the city of Vienna and surrounding regions.

ARIS and AQUACROP models will be calibrated in order to be able to simulate the seasonal dynamics of water balance (incl. the energy used for evaporative cooling) under various plant/crop management scenarios, site (soil) and weather conditions for both agricultural areas around Vienna as well as urban green areas (green roofs) at a smaler scale.
