Socio-economic effects and carbon sequestration potential of traditional agroforestry systems and eucalyptus woodlots across agro-ecological zone of the Sidama Region, Southern Ethiopia
Abstract
This study is designed with the objectives i) to assess the trend of eucalyptus expansion over the last two decades; ii) examine and compare the contribution of traditional agroforestry and smallholders’ woodlots to livelihood strategies; iii) develop above ground biomass allometric model for the dominant eucalyptus species; iv) to estimate and compare the biomass and soil organic carbon of eucalyptus woodlot and traditional agroforestry systems.
