Abstract
The aim of the project is to optimize the use of growth factors for plant growth in the early phase. This is intended to promote the cultivation of seedlings and subsequently support planting in dry areas, where one of the main tasks, e.g. in hedge replanting but also in agricultural practice, is the reduction of drought stress. This is one of the factors of particular importance at sites in the climatic region of Wagram.
Cuttings are grown at the trial site in Groß-Enzersdorf. The use of rhizoboxes allows to follow and visualize the root system, growth and development of plants. Each experimental set-up will include a comparison of soils with humus addition and a neutral reference. The soil structure in the rhizoboxes will be based on the soil profile in Absdorf and will be done according to the long experience with such experimental setups.
