Protection forest 'Bleiberger Erzberg'. Development of specific silvicultural techniques for the management of the protection forest.
Abstract
(a) Development of a silvicultural programme to improve the stability of the protective forests (Pinus sylvestris) of the 'Bleiberger Erzberg'. Assessment of the stand dynamics in relation to a sustainable guaranting of the protection action. (b) Observation of regeneration dynamics in relation to light intensity in a spruce stand after selective cutting. Methods: (a) stands and regenration inventories, description of the risk of falling rocks. (b) investigations of light intensity, observation of regeneration dynamics and of the growth of advanced planted trees.
