Interdisciplinary projects for realizing the "Gewässerbetreuungskonzept Traisen"
Abstract
The Gewässerbetreuungskonzept (GBK) Traisen - Wilhemsburg bis Traismauer is drawn up for the period 1995 to 1999. GBKs are water management schemes and serve to protect human settlements from floods as well as to preserve and/or to restore the ecological integrity. This interdisciplinary project consists of a detailed determination of the status quo of flood management and ecological situation. In addition a river specific "Leitbild" (i.e. an interdisciplinary fittet target status) is elaborated in which more comprehensive goals are defined. The final result of the GBK is a general concept consisting of various potential measures which remove or reduce current deficits in water management and ecology. In the next step severals projects has been started to detail the planning and to realise the measurements.
