Abstract
Aim of this project is to determine objective climatological criteria
concerning the quality of wine in different vine growing regions in
Austria. For this purpose the thermal and radiative differences,
topographic effects of the terrain, as well as risk for waterstress and
frost are considered. Using a Geographic Information System (GIS) and high
resolution meteorological measurements, the point data will be transformed
in areal information for the vine growing region Retz.
