StartClim2004: Analysis of heat waves and dry spells and their impact in Austria
Abstract
The objective of StartClim2004 is to support the different research efforts and activities related to climate change and its impacts and to link them with respect to long-term research programmes. Furthermore StartClim2004 shall continue research activities of StartClim2003. StartClim2004 concentrates on heat waves and dry spells enabling a first analysis of the year 2003 which was extreme in this respect. StartClim2004.A: ZAMG Analysis of heat and drought periods in Austria: Extension of the daily StartClim data record by the element vapour pressure StartClim2004. B: BOKU-Met Investigation of regional climate change scenarios with respect to heat waves and dry spells StartClim2004.C: ARC Seibersdorf Analysis of the impact of the drought in 2003 on agriculture in Austria – comparison of different methods StartClim2004.F:UBA, IIASA Contiunation and further development of the MEDEA event data base StartClim2004.G: BOKU-Met Project at the interface science-education in cooperation with schools: Is there any correlation between hot weather and the intellectual fitness?
