Alp Austria: programme for the protection and development of the alpine cultural landscape - subproject tourism
Abstract
Aim of the project Alp Austria is the protection of the alpine cultural landscapes. It was jointly commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Resources and by seven federal state governments of Austria in the framework of the “Bund-Bundesländerkooperation” (cooperation programme between the federal government and state governments). Focus of the investigations are the relationships between alpine agriculture, conservation, tourism, natural hazard protection and hunting. For a continuation of the use of alpine grasslands policy and management measures at different scale levels are necessary, which will be discussed with various stakeholders.
