Physical model study Reither Ache
Abstract
For the flood protection of St. Johann i.T. several measures in the Reither Ache River upstream of confluence with the Kitzbühler Ache River were planned. To improve flood protection a concept with multiple measures has been designed. One of many measures is to reconnect a retention area, which is artificially separated through a road. In this study different scenarios of reconnection of the retention area using pipe culverts are inv, estigated. The performance of the pipe culverts as well as possible wood jams, hydraulic issues and sedimentation are considered. The main objective of the physical model study is the test and optimization of the pipe culverts to create a split flow into the retention area and thus the connection of the retention area through the Loferer highway. The existing solution will be checked and subsequently optimized.
