Investigation of the Danube bypass in Vienna
Abstract
The Danube bypass ("Danube channel") in Vienna is investigated between Nussdorf and Simmering to document the ecological status based on benthic invertebrates and algae. Benthic invertebrates are samples with the Airlift-method, which is used in deeper, non-wadeable rivers. Benthic invertebrates an algae are determined to species level and the method of evaluation refers to the pre-requisites of the water framework directive.
