Abstract
In the last century the migration route for large mammals between the Alps and Carpathians was interrupted by increasing human population and following traffic infrastructures and intensified agriculture. Methods of wildlife ecology, remote sensing and GIS are applied in a top-down approach for modelling that wildlife corridor. This model provides the basic information for regional planning and infrastructure (project Centrope).
