Schwebstoffmonitoring in Österreich
Abstract
Most of the sediments in fluvial systems are transported as suspended sediments. This is why suspended sediments are of great importance for many technical, economical and ecological problems. The basic data necessary for the attaining of the goals is made available by the conversion of an appropriate monitoring concept. A combination of direct (single and multi point measurements) and indirect (optical sensors, ADCP-measurements) methods is applied to ensure a sufficient accuracy of measurement of the suspended sediment concentrations, the suspended sediment transport and/or the yearly and monthly suspended sediment load
