A Microarray for Vitis spp.
Abstract
Berry shrivel (BS) is one of the unsolved mysteries in viticulture, which has become of increased importance for viticulture in Austria. The Austrian red wine variety Zweigelt is highly affected by BS with high yield and quality losses. The aim of the project is to describe changed physiological processes in BS berries with a transcriptome analyses. The results of this project will be used to establish experimental setups in future research projects to detect these causes leading to BS. The identification of the cause of this physiological disorder is essential to establish methods to circumvent high yield losses and low quality of berries.
