Abstract
In the Alpine and mountainous environment water is the most relevant renewable energy source. Climate change research provide expectations of changing climate signals with respect to precipitation and air temperature and this consequently leads to expected changes in runoff. The aim of the project is the quantitative analysis of the water balance components in the subbasin scale an furthermore the estimation of the impact on hydropower production.
Climate change scenarios for the period 2010 to 2100 will be provided in appropriate spatial resolution by means of three climatic models results. The predicted data will be bias corrected and downscaled to the reliable hydrological response units for subbasins in Austria and Turkey.
