Abstract
The research project will generate critical insights into potentials of rainfed small holder farmers food production, distribution and consumption system to influence national and regional agriculture policies. It will augment food security and enhance adaptability and mitigation potential of small farms in the context of climate change. It will be carried out by forging bi-regional research partnerships among the Caritas network and their research partners/associates in India, Bangladesh and Nepal with Caritas-Austria and their EU university research partner. The research capacities of Caritas-network, associated research partners and students will be strengthened in the area of multidisciplinary and participatory enquiry of food production, distribution and consumption system and in conducting On Farm Adaptive Research around small holder farmers. Through different collaborative engagements and communication strategies, it will help sharing of emerging research results among scientists, students, extension workers, policy makers and more particularly among local small holder farmers collectives.
