Geodetic Survey of the Neusiedler See – Hanságkanal System
Abstract
The Lake Neusiedl and his reed belt determine the landscape and favour the regional climate, they are used by tourism, water sport, navigation and fishing. The area has also special nature conservation and landscape protection. The knowledge of the exact elevation of the sea ground, the distribution / depth of the mud layer as well as elevation situation of the Hanságkanal outlet system are from central meaning for sustainable management (e.g. water level regulation and reed management) and the preservation of the scenery. The project will carry out a new survey of these parameters based on old data sets and is realized in cooperation with the Burgenland Government, department for water and waste management, , the water board administration of Győr and the Sopron University.
