MULTIcover - Multifunctional Cover in Refurbishment of Facades and Buildings
Abstract
Current renovations are based on individual and often costly solutions. Therefore, great potential lies in the development and implementation of standardized solutions with high energy and cost efficiency. Renovations of the existing building stock in Austria and Europe are one of the most important growth markets. Within this project energy efficient renovation measures with prefabricated building components will be developed. These measures will focus on the following objectives: • Flexibility and variations within a modular system, that integrates innovative components (passive house components, or plus energy components) and increase energy efficiency up to 10 - to 20-times as compared to building stock. • Measures will ensure an increase on living quality and reduction of construction time on site by prefabrication • Well-designed solutions with innovative use of renewable energy sources • Use of organic materials and renewable resources
