Abstract
During the last years a major decline of salmonid fishes in the River asser, an important tributary to the River Etsch in South Tyrol was recorded. In particular the densities of juvenile fish decreased and a decline in natural reproduction occured. The aim of the study is to detect the possible reasons for the maldevelopment and consequently to develop measures to mitigate negative influences as a basis for the establishment of sulf sustaining fish stocks in the future. The project area is situated between Naiv (bridge Village Tyrol) an the village St. Leonhard. The project starts in 2012 and should be finished by 2014.
