Response of spring genotypes of Triticum aestivum, T-spelta and T-dicoccum to seedling infection with Fusarium culmorum
CEREAL RES COMMUN. CEREAL RESEARCH COMMUNICATIONS; 36: 171-173.
- Abstract:
- The response of spring genotypes of Triticum aestivum, T. spelta and T dicoccum to seedling infection with F. culmorum was studied in a greenhouse experiment. The effect of inoculation on the length and weight of seedlings was determined. It was found that the average decrease in seedling weight was Substantially higher than the average decrease in seedling length, reaching 96.07% in common wheat and 91.76% in spelt. The very strong con-elation (r = 0.943) observed between the length and weight of seedlings indicates that the response of seedlings to infection may be evaluated based on only one of the above characteristics.
