Abstract
Phytogenic substances are generally regarded as safe and are frequently used in the food and feed industries. Moreover, terpenoids and polyphenols as phytogenic may have a beneficial impact on animal performance, health status, food safety and welfare under hot environmental conditions, however, the exact mode of action is still not clear. Furthermore, phytogenic afforded thermotolerance in chicks and reduce oxidative stress and ammonia production as well as for productive performance and meat quality.
