Development and characterisation of multifunctional bio-based composites
Abstract
The aim of this study is to assess the capability of different mineral or synthetic fillers mixed with biopolymers to replace current electrically and/or thermally conductive composite. Multiple added-values are expected: (1) electrical and/or thermal conductivity with an innovative partly-renewable material, (2) significant mechanical reinforcement, (3) sustainability and biodegradability of the material Research will be developed with new synthetic fillers (as unsized and sized recycled carbon fibres) but also mineral or organic fibres and particles. New types of biopolymers will also complete the study as biobased Polyamide grades, or electrically conductive polymers. These trials will complete a reference panel of electrical and thermal conductive biobased composites.
