Pollination biology, reproductive success and potential isolation effects within Orchis coriophora in the Lobau, Vienna (NP Donauauen)
Abstract
Vienna is (bio)diverse, for instance, including the National Park Donauauen as important habitat of rare and threatened species. In particular, one orchid species, Orchis coriophora, has its largest Central European population here, within the Vienna Lobau. Given the management of the National Park (i.e. sheep grazing) on respective sites, will monitor this species, and will also study its breeding system, effective pollinators, nectar production, and reproductive success.
