Abstract
Torrential processes like floods, intensive bedload transport and debris flows represent a severe hazard in alpine regions. In this project we focus on the identification of critical meteorological and hydrological trigger conditions at different temporal and spatial scales. Using an ensemble of down-scaled high resolution regional climate models expected changes due to changing climatic conditions are assessed. The results of the project will be a basis for an improved risk management for mountain hazard processes.
