Development in floodplain areas - land use and effectiveness of measures, MODULE 2 - Theoretical Issues
Abstract
The aim of the project "development in floodplain areas - land use and effectiveness of measures“ is to develop a tool, which allows a detailed analysis of the risk development in flood prone areas. The importance of analysing the dynamics of damage potentials has already been proven in previous studies. Hence it is necessary to analyse developments in the past and to estimate future trends to be able to react to possible adverse effects on the development of damage potential. Therefore digital geoinformation, orthofotos and laserscanner imagery are processed, intersected and evaluated according to its suitability for the assessment of temporal and spatial changes in the flood risk. This in-depth study aims to further refine and improve methodologies developed in a preceding project and test its feasibility in a large scale application.
