A Scientific Approach to Identify Optimisation Potential in Water Pollution Control in Albania

The objective of the project is to bring together the experiences of both partner institutions regarding management and improvements in the field of water pollution control. Hereby the current situation, the state-of-the-art and boundary conditions in Austria and Albania will be presented, discussed and evaluated. A special focus will be laid on the relevant EU standards (water framework directive, wastewater directive, directive on environmental quality standards, etc.) and their potential implementation in Albanian water law and water practice. The possibilities of improving water pollution control in Albania will be discussed in accordance with the requirements quoted in the relevant European standards.
