Ecological flow (e-flows): scientific foundation & comparison of regulations in countries of the Apls
Abstract
Within the frame of this project a literature survey will reveal an overview on different approaches for defining e-flows in respect to different running water and hyrological functions with special emphasis on floodplains and dynamic flows. Furthermore, the project will compare e-flow regulations in Alpine countries (AT, CH, SL, FR, IT (Südtirol), DE (Bayern, + Baden Württemberg)) and use case studies from AT/CH for different river types, e.g. trout, grayling and barbel region. Based on the analyes, as far as possible recommendations for an ideal approach for assessing e-flow and for adapting legal regulations should be developed.
