Advanced development of the "Fish-Lift-Lock" System
Abstract
As part of the feasibility study on the pilot hydro power plants TIAG (River Gurk) and Leser (River Lölling) the first tests at a new developed Fish-Lift-Lock-System showed positive results in terms of upstream fish passability. Different species and age classes were able to pass the fishway. Thus, the newly developed fishway comes with adequate potential for the restoration of fish ecological continuity. This fishway system will be further developed in terms of small-scale findability for fish migration in both directions, upstream and downstream.
