Study on the developement of carp stocks (Cyprinus carpio) in two waterbodies with different predation levels
Abstract
Stocking of carp has a long tradition. However due to low catch numbers its sustainability is in question. The project tackles the topic of the ability of stocked carp to reproduce at all. The second focus is on the performance of the fish when under increased/decreased predation of other fish species. The experiments will be done in two alluvial water bodies of the Danube. It will act as a basis for fisheries management in the futer in the National Park Donauauen.
