Recording of working time requirements in conventional group management of breeding sows (in large and small groups)
Abstract
Pig farming is characterized by extreme economic challenges and changes in the economy, which accelerate the operational growth and assignment of different branches of the industry, especially on small-scale farms. In addition to the investment costs, operating costs are included into the largest cost positions of production costs. For this reason, it is very important for pig farmers to use the available working time as efficiently as possible. This can be promoted through the provision of documents about working time requirements for farm managers. The aim of the project study is to analyze the current group-housing systems for barren and pregnent sows, the management of large and small groups from a work economic point of view, and to generate working time data for planning purposes, which are based on efficient work process models. Four representative operations are selected for data collection, two each with large group management and two with small group management. The operational data, especially influence variables, are requested with a questionnaire (final). The activities as well as the working processes are recorded in a video-blind manner and the influencing variables are recorded by measurement technology. Identified missing working time data according to work elements, their influencing variables and frequencies are collected with an electronic time measuring device. The collected data are analyzed descriptively and analytically and validated. The working time requirements are compiled and validated comparatively by compiling the process models and linking the schedules of work elements with their frequencies and influencing variables as well as aggregating them.
