Abstract
Social trends such as demographic change, urbanization and globalization, as well as changes in production, markets and consumption, pose new challenges for agriculture. The aim of the project is to evolve a development strategy especially for small and medium-sized farms in Burgenland. This includes ensuring a high supply of the population with high-quality food through their own production - fair, ethical and ecologically sustainable. The goal is also the development of pilot projects for concrete implementation. The project includes an analysis of potentials and the development of proposals for the development of Burgenland agriculture, both in the strict sense of the term, as well as in the production of agricultural products, marketing and distribution. An inter- and transdisciplinary process with workshops on the integration of Burgenland experiences will be organized to enable the development of strategic proposals.
