Abstract
Research showed that in secondary school waste, waste prevention and especially food waste prevention is not introduced in curricula and therefore is no topic at the moment. This is also true for tourism schools. Therefore, within this projectdata on the knowledge of pupils in tourism schools on food waste and food waste prevention will be collected. Based on the outcomes of an extended inquiry teaching material will be developed and a lecture on food waste prevention will be implemented. The effect of this food waste prevention lecture will be evaluated.
