Integriertes Ökologisches Gewässermanagement an Traun und Alm - Zählung piscivorer Vögel

The project ‘Integriertes Ökologisches Gewässermanagement an Traun und Alm’ aims on the improvement of the fish-ecological status of river Traun and Alm. To find ecologically sustainable solutions a management concept will be developed based on interdisciplinary research results. The predation by piscivorous birds, in particular by cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo), is one of numerous issues which potentially impacts the local fish population. In this sub-project we will conduct a systematic census of piscivorous birds using the study area as feeding habitat. In combination with the other research results their relevance for the fish mortality will be investigated.
