Migration behaviour of nase (Chondrostoma nasus) in the Danube River downstream Freudenau
Abstract
The research project investigates the migration behaviour and migration routes of adult nase (Chondrostoma nasus) during spawning migration in the Danube River downstream the hydroelectric power plant Freudenau. By means of acoustic telemetry, the migration routes will be recorded as accurately as possible and the results will be related to abitonic parameters. The study contributes to the investigation of the functionality of migration bypasses at large rivers and the migration behaviour of adult cyprinids, which has hardly been investigated so far.
