Scientific analyzes of selected climate change scenarios on two tributaries to the Vjosa / Albania
Abstract
Previous studies have already shown that global warming in the Balkans has a significant impact on the water balance and the opportunities for sustainable water management. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of climate change in two sub-basins of the Vjosa / Albania. This is done in cooperation with the Institute for Meteorology at BOKU Vienna, which provides the changes in precipitation and specific runoff in the catchment area in the form of GIS analyzes as a basis. Building on this, hydraulic analyzes are carried out in the longitudinal course of the two tributaries Bence and Susica to assess the possible use of hydropower.
