Instructions for sustainable high-altitude greening in the Weißsee Glacier World area
Abstract
Recultivation of soil wounds is a challenge in the Hohe Tauern National Park area due to the local site and climatic conditions. Sustainable greening is of particular interest not only for erosion control, but also in terms of landscape and recreational value. In recent years, ecologically accompanied greening has been carried out with varying degrees of success. The aim of this research project is to develop a guideline for greening measures in the Rudolfshütte region on the basis of test plots. The locally created test areas are the essential basis for the scientific investigations with regard to seed mixture and greening techniques.
