Abstract
To successfully establish new feeding strategies, information on the mode of action of a certain feeding intervention is required. The present study aims at determining the impact of novel wood based feed (additives) on the intestinal physiology of monogastric species. Emphasis will lie on assessing antioxidative and inflammatory parameters as well as potential changes in the fermentation profile of the gut microbiota.
- dietary fibre source
- microbial metabolites
- antioxidative capacity
- gastrointestinal tract
- model animal
- feed analysis
