GKI-Monitoring - IWA
Abstract
The hydropower plant GKI, which is currently under construction, is one of the first hydropeaking dampening measures that are in the implementation phase throughout Austria. There is therefore considerable research interest in ascertaining and analyzing the abiotic changes in connection with the ecological effects in situ. Due to the timely completion of the hydro power plant and the expected reduction in the hydrological load, the research relevance is very high. The Inn also represents one of the main flood-polluted bodies of water in Austria and, from a scientific point of view, is a priority study area for a balanced distribution of the scientifically examined case studies within the framework of the SuREmMa + project for a balanced type of water body.
