Safety and sustainability of nanomaterials and other advanced materials
Abstract
Safe- and Sustainble-by-Design (SSbD) plays an essential role in the production and processing of Advanced Materials in order to be able to achieve the goals of the EU Chemicals Strategy. In the SiNa project, SSbD assessment criteria are analyzed and the drivers & barriers in the operational implementation of the SSbD concept are identified by means of stakeholder analyses. In addition, SSbD applicability will be investigated in more detail using the example of an Austrian nanomaterial manufacturer for the cosmetics industry. In the course of a validation workshop, the recommendations for action derived from the project results for a future SSbD implementation in Austrian companies will be agreed with stakeholders.
