FAMOUS - Freight Access Modell for Optimizing Urban Space
Abstract
The vast majority of motorised vehicles in urban traffic counts are passenger cars. Therefore, measures to date have focused on reducing passenger traffic. Freight transport is vital to the life and economy of cities, so there are many exceptions to access and parking restrictions, especially for delivery traffic. The FAMOUS project aims to develop an innovative building block for the sustainable transformation of urban freight transport based on mobility and logistics data. The freight transport model, which was piloted in the GÜMORE project and showed good results, will demonstrate the potential for mobility control and CO2 reduction based on concrete use cases of access management measures. In the FAMOUS project, the data from the mobility system will be used for concrete and practical solutions for climate-neutral freight mobility in cities, and the access management measures with the highest impact potential will be identified so that they can be quickly implemented and scaled up.
